Update: Everything should be good to go now. Enjoy!

Enjoying that new update to Xbox Video that fixes some bugs? What about the update to Xbox Music that fixes over 70 bugs? Well then you might be a little bummed to learn Xbox Live is experiencing some issues that might impact your ability to sign in to Xbox Music, Xbox Video and Xbox Live on your Xbox One

Security and privacy are two things that nearly every one of you value in some shape or form. Recent news about the NSA potentially spying on your communications with the cooperation of internet giants can be quite disturbing. You may have nothing to hide, but the fundamental problem is some entity other than you have access to your data. Hemlis is a beautiful and secure messenger service from the same minds that brought you the Pirate Bay. They’re launching on Android and iOS, but you could help Windows Phone launch alongside them.

We all know that feeling. You read about an awesome app on Windows Phone Central and go to download only to see the Windows Phone Store throw up some error right in your face. You want to rage and throw your phone at a wall, but you don’t. And sometimes it’s not an app you want, but a new song or album and well you know where we’re going with this. Yup, Xbox Music isn’t working for some folks. Details after the break.

Recently here at Windows Phone Central we've received a few help requests through our app from users whose live tiles all appear to have stopped updating, including our own. Previously there have been bugs in our app that would cause its tile to fail, but when all live tiles on a device that rely on Background tasks get stuck, there's a bigger problem.

Up until this point I have been unable to reproduce the issue myself so I've been struggling to assist those of you asking us for a solution. In a stroke of luck though my Lumia 800's tiles recently stopped updating at all (excluding those updated through push notifications), and after a simple restart of the phone didn't help I have a solution to share with you all.

We saw this before with a fake Spotify app that was being sold on the Windows Phone Marketplace and now we're seeing it again. Scam artist Manikandan S is selling for $1.99 (with no trial) "Chrome" which he flat out claims "is same as a google chrome web browser":

"Keep Chrome Browser handy on your device, especially for those unavoidable times you are on a slow crowded network, away from Wi-Fi. This app is same as a google chrome web browser. It has most stylish search button. Facebook, Google, Yahoo! -with Chrome Browser, all your favorite sites work great on your windows phone."

Clearly, this is not the same and both violates Google's copyright and is false advertising. Rather, it's just IE9 with a not-so-fancy wrapper around it. What's worse is the plethora of negative reviews which we could only take as an indication of numerous purchases.

Hopefully Microsoft will respond by yanking this app ASAP like the fake Spotify, but in the meantime, consider this a warning.
