The Lumia 525 and Lumia 1320 may aces for Nokia’s budget Windows Phones. The Lumia 525 is essentially the same as its predecessor, the Lumia 520 save for one change: 1 GB of RAM, which will allow it to play more high-end games. The Lumia 1320 is Nokia’s budget phone with a massive 6-inch display and the same design language as the Lumia 625.

Both phones are slowly rolling out globally. Here’s the latest on where you can pick them up.

Nokia Lumia 525 now available in Singapore

The follow-up to Nokia’s best-selling Lumia 520 has arrived in Singapore. Upgraded with 1GB of RAM, the Nokia Lumia 525 is now available at Nokia Stores in Singapore for SGD 249 (approximately $198 USD).

More RAM in the Nokia Lumia 525 means more compatible games and apps compared to its predecessor with only 512MB. Other specifications include 4-inch IPS LCD display (800 x 480), dual-core 1GHz Snapdragon S4 processor, 5-megapixel camera, and expandable storage with microSD slot.

Besides getting dibs on the recently announced Lumia 525, Singapore will also be grabbing the Lumia 1520 in mid-December and the Lumia 1320 sometime in January. Nokia announced the news on their Facebook page in Singapore a few hours ago, although the Lumia 1520 had been teased as coming soon for a while.

Pricing on the Lumia 1520 is set for S$999 (no contract) and it will be available starting Saturday, the 14th of December. Pre-orders are starting today for the device at Nokia Stores and Nokia Solutions Partners with all three carriers in that country picking up the massive Lumia.

Since Windows Phone did not receive a new Xbox game last week, my review this week will look at an indie game from Singapore-based developer Aureoline Tetrahedron.

Terrene is a vector graphics game for Windows Phone 8 that looks deceptively similar to arcade classic Asteroids. In fact, it turns out that “terrene” is kind of a synonym for “asteroid.” Who knew? Surface details aside, Terrene’s gameplay and atmosphere are more challenging and contemplative than Atari’s classic arcade game. Do smart ideas make for smart game design? Read on to find out.

The 41 MP Lumia 1020 from Nokia is finally hitting its stride with its global release. Nearly every day, we hear of a new launch on some corner of the planet. Today we have two markets, both of which are quite massive for the soon-to-be Microsoft company: India and Singapore.

Nokia India has officially listed the massive camera phone on its website with a price of Rs.49999 ($812 USD) and customers can now preorder the device. Expected delivery for the flagship phone is by the third week of October. Earlier, Flipkart listed the phone in that region for preorder and it sold-out on Snapdeals, signifying strong demand.

Although Nokia has their Lumia 1020 to start global distribution in the coming weeks, their other new phone, the Lumia 625, is now rolling out worldwide.

The latest country to pick up the 4.7-inch 800x480 Windows Phone 8 device would be Qatar, through Consolidated Gulf Co. (CGC) who distributes for Nokia in the region. The phone is retailing for QR 999 ($275 USD) and is now available “across major electronic retail stores in a range of colours including orange, yellow, bright green, white and black”. The device is expected to help transition the region to 4G and should be a great choice for those looking for a compelling Windows Phone without committing to much money.

We first saw the Nokia Lumia 925 at an event in London back in mid-May. It marked the first time aluminum was used as the majority of material in a Lumia. I guess you could call it the Luminium 925. Lame jokes aside, the device hit folks in the UK and Europe a month later and then just today on T-Mobile in the United States. Now our pals in Singapore are three days away from being the first with the device in Asia.

Nokia has launched its free music streaming service in the UAE (United Arab Emirates), opening up a catalogue of songs and playlists for consumers to enjoy. The service is what many in other markets have already enjoyed for some time, taking full advantage of a free service that enables Windows Phone owners to discover new music. What's more is the manufacturer has also launched its premium Music+ upgrade in Singapore.

Priced at $899 and $699 respectively, the Nokia hardware will be stocked by all three operators - M1, SingTel and StarHub. Windows Phone 8 is almost upon us but before that we still have Windows 8 launch to get through. Looks like retailers in the Singapore are going to use that weekend to start pushing the HTC 8X in a promo sale.

The offer is set to last for three days only from 26th to the 28th of October, this is way ahead of the official launch on 3rd November so this could be one to look out for.
