tylt vu

TYLT is one of my favorite accessories brand, and we've reviewed some of their products like wireless chargers and portable speakers on Windows Central in the past that not just work with your Windows Phone devices, but several other smartphones as well.

The Southern California brand has just announced two new wireless chargers in their popular VÜ range that will be available for sale by the end of the year.

From a novelty to a norm, wireless charging is increasingly becoming a popular feature especially with the consistent push from Nokia and innovative accessories to complement them.

After Nokia introduced the DT-900 wireless charging plate and the Fatboy wireless charging pillow with the launch of the Nokia Lumia 920, their first Qi-compatible Windows Phone device, several brands have followed up with their variants of wireless chargers like the Mugenizer N11 I wrote about last week. In this post, let’s take a look at wireless charges from Mugen Power, Tylt, and Brando that I’ve been trying out since a while.

Ready for something cool? One of our favourite booths here at MWC has been the Qi wireless charging booth, it’s small in comparison to some companies but it’s showing off a few devices that sort of define the term ‘gadget lust’. With Nokia announcing two new Lumia devices on Monday that both have wireless charging capability, the vision of “wireless charging everywhere” is becoming ever closer.

You’ll find a full titillating gallery after the break, and we’re also going to call out a few of the devices specifically that piqued our interest. That first image up top though you might recognise, it’s the Tylt Vu which we covered just over a month ago when it was up for pre-order. Coming in several striking colours (although we only saw this yellow one), this charger would not look out of place in Nokia’s accessory line up.

Wireless charging is the future. We’ve been using it on our Lumia 920’s and Verizon branded HTC 8X for a few months now.

Once you start using it cables can’t help but seem antiquated. It’s only in a few smartphones right now, but will only become more and more mainstream as new devices and accessories support it. There’s that deal Nokia made with Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf to outfit coffee shops with tables that support Qi wireless charging (also Virgin Atlantic has a similar deal). We’ve got great accessories like the Nokia JBL PowerUp speaker and an upcoming one from iLuv to charge your devices sans wires. Now here is one more sweet looking accessory to help liberate you from cords.
