winter ski and ride

One of my favorite apps this year has been Winter Ski and Ride for Windows Phone 8 users. It launched in early February and quickly became one of the coolest apps around. It’s an app that tracks various stats when you’re out skiing or snowboarding. You also get snow reports, tracking, and much more. A sister app was released later in the year called Active Fitness – it’s from the team behind Winter, but aimed at general sports and activities. We’ve got the 2013/2014 ski season coming up, which is the perfect time for them to release a Windows 8 version of Winter. Let’s check it out.

Summer is in full swing up here in the northern hemisphere. Depending on your location, this might be the only time of the year where you can really get outdoors and enjoy activities (I’m looking at you Seattle). We have a handful of great apps to track your workouts on Windows Phone (like Runtastic), but Active Fitness is a new one that has some pretty cool features that you’ll want to check out.

Winter is in full effect right now, just ask the Northeast which was just slammed with a blizzard and the storm about to hit the Midwest. While the majority of the population doesn’t enjoy these freezing months, there are a few of us who gear up and hit the slopes with smiles as wide as Chad’s gap in Utah. Before you hit the slopes, try out this Nokia Collection exclusive Windows Phone 8 app called Winter Ski and Ride.
