We first heard of Hipstamatic bringing their popular Oggl app to Windows Phone back in May. It was supposed to launch alongside the Nokia Lumia 925, but that didn’t happen. At least not with the European release of the Lumia 925. Instead, we’re getting Oggl Pro with the newly announced Nokia Lumia 1020. If you aren’t familiar with Oggl, you’ll know why the two are a good match. Photos and video after the break.

If there is one thing that is fun to look at, it’s just how massive the Nokia Lumia 1020’s 41MP BSI sensor is when compared to “normal” smartphone sensors.

Such is the case in the photo above, where you can see the Lumia 1020’s sensor, lenses and housing, along with “standard” 8MP sensors (Hint: the 1020’s are the big ones).

We’ve had a lot of folks asking about the wireless charging cover (CC-3066) for the recently announced Lumia 1020. As many of you know, Nokia omitted wireless charging in order to keep the device as thin and light as possible (and reduce cost, presumably). Because of that, you’ll have to pony up and clip on the CC-3066 wireless charging cover in order to go wire-free.

One of the trickiest things Nokia has had to cope with when bringing such a high end camera is the addition of advanced controls. For hobbyist and pro shooters, adjusting your white balance, ISO and other aspects are run of the mill. But not everyone who buys the Lumia 1020 will be at that level, so how do you ease them into those manual settings?

Although many of are blown away by Nokia’s HAAC (high amplitude audio capture) microphones, which allow their Lumia line to record distortion-free audio (think of a rock concert), there was always one drawback that you may not have known about: mono.

Yup, despite having three microphones on board, the device only processed in mono sound, meaning even though it was distortion free it was still a step behind.

One big complaint we’ve heard when it comes to Windows Phone is the inability to quickly edit videos on the go. There’s no way to quickly cut and edit your capture until you get home to a PC and by then, it could be too late or you don’t care any longer.

Luckily, Nokia heard your complaints too. The Nokia Pro Camera app has built in video editing, which is demonstrated in the above video. It basically allows you to trim and save the video for sharing, all while taking advantage of that super awesome on-board camera.

AT&T also just put up some videos on their YouTube channel highlighting the 1020. Let’s check them out.

We shared some leaked screen shots of the new Nokia photography app, Pro Camera, earlier and it looked rather impressive when demoed at the Zoom Re-Invented event.

The camera app for the Lumia 1020 will give photographers more control over the 41MP than any other stock camera app. Features will be similar to what we see in third party apps such as ProShot or Camera360 but tuned specifically for the 41mp camera of the Lumia 1020.

Stephen Elop put out the word to developers that Nokia is looking for their help to push innovations in imaging technology. To aid them in this venture, Nokia will be releasing the developers SDK, which promises to offer "deep access" to the settings on the Lumia 1020.

Some big names have already signed on to use the new developers tools for official apps. Look for new releases from CNN, Vyclone, Yelp, Flipboard, Foursquare and Path.

Stay tuned for more details from the floor.

Nokia has today unveiled and announced the Lumia 1020 for AT&T. The Windows Phone is the latest flagship handset from the Finnish manufacturer, following the Lumia 920, Lumia 928 and Lumia 925. What's important here is the jump to a new group, no longer are we wrapped up in the 9xx series. So what's the Lumia 1020 all about and is it exactly as leaked renders and information suggested?
