There is no shortage of zombie-themed games on consoles, but one of the better efforts on the PC, 7 Days to Die, is also coming soon to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 sometime in June. The console versions are being released via Telltale Publishing, a division of Telltale Games.
First created for the PC by The Fun Pimps development team, 7 Days to Die began via a Kickstarter fundraising campaign and was later released on Steam as an Early Access title. Since then, the game has had over 1.5 million downloads:
Set in a brutally unforgiving post-apocalyptic world overrun by the undead, 7 Days to Die is an open-world survival game that is a unique combination of first person shooter, survival horror, tower defense, and role-playing games. It presents combat, crafting, looting, mining, exploration, and character growth, in a way that has seen a rapturous response from fans worldwide, generating hundreds of thousands of hours of community content on YouTube and other streaming video platforms.
Both digital and retail versions of the console ports will be released, and people who pre-order the $29.99 game will get five character skins based on Telltale's own zombie-themed episodic game The Walking Dead. The console versions will include split-screen offline multiplayer support along with other additional multiplayer features that will be revealed later.
