Telltale's episodic Batman game is coming this summer, and it'll be rated M

Telltale Games has revealed some more information on its previously announced Batman episodic game. It's due for release on multiple platforms sometime this summer and it will be M-rated, with Telltale saying "the cinematic approach will feel more akin to an R-rated film."

Telltale added that the game will focus a lot on the Bruce Wayne side of Batman:

Batman is the perfect character for the studio to explore in a Telltale series, giving the team the opportunity to dive deeper into the mind of the man behind the mask. Each night, Bruce Wayne chooses to change Gotham for the better. The team wants to explore what the consequences are of the player's actions when decisions made as Bruce have a critical impact on his nightly crusade as Batman, and vice versa. Certain key situations will give the player the decision to approach a scene as Bruce or Batman, with consequences for both sides.

The art style for the Batman game will look more like a living comic book, rather than the photo realism of the Batman: Arkham series. In terms of gameplay, Telltale says the player's actions will influence how Gotham City works during the day, and the criminals Batman will have to face at night.

The game won't have a direct tie-in to any of the stories in the comics, movies or TV shows, but it will feature many of Batman's supporting characters such as Alfred, Vicki Vale, James Gordon, and Renee Montoya. The game's villains remain a secret... for now.
