Tiki Towers tearing down its price as the Xbox Live Deal of the Week

At Windows Phone Central we usually get the Xbox Live release information a bit early, but this week we’re pleased to announce the Xbox Live Deal of the Week ahead of schedule as well. Following up on last week’s strong bargain of Monster Island for a dollar, this week’s discount is no less impressive. Starting this Wednesday, Game House’s Tiki Towers will go on sale for 99 cents, down from $2.99.

Tiki Towers is part of that scarcest of genres on Windows Phone, the physics puzzler. But don’t hold that against it; the gameplay is actually super fun. The object of each level is to help five hapless monkeys reach the exit safely. Left to their own devices, they’ll either fall to their deaths or simply get stuck and give up. Build bamboo towers for them to climb and they just might make it to the exit, if the tower doesn’t collapse first.

The gameplay is surprisingly intuitive and reasonable in the challenge department. A normal player could actually complete the whole thing without turning to YouTube videos or FAQs, which I can’t say for some of its brethren. The delightfully colorful art style and adorable monkey animations certainly don’t hurt either. On the downside, the Achievements can be a bit glitchy, but I didn’t run into any problems with them myself. Check out our full review for more details.

Banana republic

Astute readers may remember that we broke the news of Tiki Towers 2: Monkey Republic coming to Windows Phone back when we announced Sally’s Spa. Now that Sally’s latest game is out, Tiki Towers 2 can’t be terribly far off. Why not pick up the first game on the cheap and prepare for it?

Tiki Towers will be on sale for one week only. Don’t lock yourself in a room with an infinite number of typewriters; just head over here to the Windows Phone Store on Wednesday and get it while it's hot.
