Turtle Beach just unveiled the Elite Pro Tournament headset, designed for eSports and long sessions

Turtle Beach partnered with Call of Duty world champions Optic Gaming to develop the perfect headset for long stints of hardcore play, with the goal of ensuring maximum comfort combined with high-quality voice chat and DTS 7.1 surround sound.

Turtle Beach bunkered down for the past three years to develop the new Elite Pro Tournament line, which will be fully compatible with the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. In a press release, Turtle Beach CEO Juergen Stark praised the company's commitment to perfecting the new product:

"There are plenty of great gaming headsets and audio gear out there, but we saw the need to drive fundamental innovation to make it better for eSports. We spent the past three years developing the Elite Pro Headset, T.A.C., and accessories, working with industry experts and eSports aficionados to ensure we thought of everything. And once we felt like we had it right, we spent months refining every detail to make it perfect."

The Elite Pro Tournament headset boasts various features that promote personalized comfort. The Elite Pro Tournament's 'ComfortTec' fit system will allow owners to customize the tightness of the headset, with an additional headband that helps the headset distribute weight more evenly. Players will also be able to change the position of the earcups independently, which are cushioned in Asahi Spandex fabric atop shape memory foam. The cans are also infused with a cooling gel that Turtle Beach says will keep "players cooler for longer."

Additionally, the new Elite Pro Tournament headset should be particularly interesting to those of us who wear glasses, as Turtle Beach have developed a patented system that allows glasses arms to sit comfortably in their own physical channel.

As a wired headset (to ensure maximum response time), the Turtle Beach Elite Pro Tournament headset also comes with a Tactical Audio Controller (or T.A.C. for short) that provides the usual Turtle Beach benefits, such as footstep enhancing Superhuman Hearing and DTS 7.1 surround sound audio controls. Turtle Beach says that the T.A.C. also gives the end user greater control over microphone audio levels, background audio levels and more.

The Elite Pro range will also come with premium accessories, such as a special noise isolating microphone to block audience noise during tournaments, and adapters for Xbox One and PS4, bringing Superhuman Hearing, chat enhancements, bass boost and microphone audio monitoring (so that you can hear yourself speak).

The Elite Pro Tournament headset is available for pre-order now in the UK for £169.99, and will be available for pre-order later in the month in the US for $199.95.
