UC Browser for Windows Phone updated for better World Cup coverage

The popular UC Browser app for Windows Phone is the subject of a new update that was released earlier this morning. This new 3.6 version brings some interesting new features to the mix, including a way to keep up with the 2014 World Cup tournament.

While the UC Broswer page on the Windows Phone Store doesn't have a change log yet, the app's official forums have posted what's new in this update. The browser now has placed information about the current pro football-soccer tournament on its Speed Dial feature. Users can now access UC Browser to quickly check out the latest scores, stats, photos, videos and more from the World Cup, along with reminders about when the next matches in the tournament will begin.

Another new feature is a way to save any content from the browser directly to a phone's SD card, which could make storing and sharing things like photos and files easier. Downloading files via WiFi will now continue even if the lock screen is enabled in this new version. Finally, UC Browser has put in what they called an Optimized Speed Mode, which they claim will offer users a "smoother and more seamless Speed Mode" while browsing.

You can download the new UC Browser version right now from the Windows Phone Store.
