The unofficial Twitch.tv app Unstream streams in as today's AdDuplex HERO App

Unstream is an unofficial Twitch.tv app that is available for both Windows PC and Phones. Unstream allows you to watch live streams and videos from the comfort of your Windows device and comes in as today's AdDuplex HERO App.

The HERO App program is a promotional campaign for Windows Phone and Windows developers on the AdDuplex Network. The program has changed slightly from last year and partners AdDuplex with AppDeals, TechRewards{.nofollow} and Windows Central to deliver a host of benefits to the top apps and games each month. Our role in the HERO App campaign is to offer a little exposure to these titles by sharing them with you, our readers. Today we shine a little light on Unstream from Travis Liew.

Unstream

Unstream is a free, ad-supported app that is available for both Windows PC and Phones. The unofficial Twitch.tv app allows you to watch live streams and videos on demand. The app itself is laid out in simple fashion taking advantage of the Windows 10 menu to provide your navigational options such as visiting featured channels, top games, top channels, top videos and access the search tool.

You do not need a Twitch.tv account to use Unstream and view content, but you won't have the ability to leave comments, follow/unfollow channels and other membership features without one. Thankfully, a Twitch account is a free registration, so you might as well.

Unstream

Settings, also accessible from the menu, cover the app's general appearance, streaming quality, notifications settings and chat options.

In taking Unstream out for a test drive, it comes across as a nice Windows app for Twitch.tv fans. Videos loaded and played without issue. I did not experience any lag times or glitches with the Windows Phone or Windows PC version. Even the many videos from our Paul Acevedo came in loud and clear.

Unstream Windows Phone

Unstream may not have across-the-board appeal, but if you are a Twitch.tv fan, it is worth checking out.
