It's been a long wait for fans of the VLC media player app for the promised Windows 10 UWP version, but news about its release may be coming very soon. The primary developer of the app, Thomas Nigro, says he plans to write a blog post with that news on Tuesday, April 19.

Nigro also posted a quick video on Twitter showing the "Picture in Picture" feature in the VLC Windows 10 app. He later wrote that a big blog post on the app was "coming tomorrow."

The VLC team at VideoLAN previously launched a version of the app that supported both Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows 8.1 as a universal app. Work on the Windows 10 version has taken a bit longer than first expected, as Nigro previously said news on its release would happen in March.
