The slate of unique upcoming Xbox One and Windows 10 games with Play Anywhere support only keeps getting longer, and the latest addition will definitely scratch an itch if your a fan of classic turn-based tactical games. Called Wargroove, the upcoming game is being billed as a sort of homage to the likes of Advance Wars. And judging by the trailer, the game looks pretty promising.

Here's a look at what you can expect, from Xbox Wire:

Wargroove is a modern take on the simple-but-complex turn-based tactical gameplay popularized in the 2000s by handheld games such as Advance Wars. Like many of you, we grew up with these games and we're filled with nostalgia for this era. Having come up short in finding something similar to play, we saw a lot of interest out there for a new game in the same vein.

Included in that nostalgic romp will be plenty of tasty turn-based action, user generated maps, and an attractive pixel art aesthetic. Other than 2017, there's no word on exactly when Wargroove will be released in full, but when it does, Xbox Play Anywhere will mean you'll only have to buy it once to start playing on your Windows 10 PC and Xbox One. For now, you can follow along with development at the Wargroove development blog.
