Take five minutes to watch the awesome intro to Battleborn now on Xbox One

Yesterday, after some initial delays, 2K and Gearbox Software got the chance to release Battleborn for Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. Battleborn is created by the same teams who brought us the recent hit (and my personal favorite) Borderlands 2.

If you have ever played Borderlands 2 you may remember the exciting and captivating intro to that game with music from "Short Change Hero" by The Heavy. If you have not seen that you can watch the embed below too, because that never gets old.

Like Borderlands 2 Battleborn also features a highly stylized five-minute beginning that sets up the main characters and a bit of the story. The method, this time, is a modern anime done by Secret Sauce Studio featuring what I think is a new song by Deltron 3030. The animation reminds me of the classic cartoon movie Heavy Metal (1981).

If you have never heard of Deltron 3030, they're an excellent "super group" featuring Dan the Automator, DJ Kid Koala, and Del the Funky Homosapien. They are also one of my favorite groups as the original Deltron 3030 (2000) album is one of the most original concept records I have heard and is perfect for Sci-Fi dystopian nerds.

Anyway, enough jibber jabbing. Watch the intro video above and if you have time watch the classic Borderlands 2 one below as well because it's always fun. Just try to resist the urge to play either game before you finish work today.

Have you started playing Battleborn yet? Let us know in comments what you think and if you would recommend it. Jez and co. will be working on a review for it shortly. For now, you can read Jez's thoughts on the beta from a few weeks ago including comparisons to Activision-Blizzard's Overwatch due later this month.

Beta impressions: Does Battleborn make the case for the first-person MOBA?
