Windows 10 upgrade

If it is already July 29 where you live, your Windows 7 or 8.1 PC might soon be prompting you to begin the upgrade process to Windows 10. Microsoft has now started the global upgrade rollout for the next version of its operating system.

The evidence comes from China-based PCBeta, where its community members have posted images of their PCs getting messages by Microsoft to upgrade to Windows 10. Microsoft previously started silently downloading the files needed for the Windows 10 update for the users who reserved their machine to be upgraded.

Microsoft has already announced that the over 5 million members of the Windows Insider program would be among the first to get the Windows 10 update on July 29. After that, the company will slowly roll out the OS to everyone else who has reserved their place on the Windows 10 upgrade train. Those downloads will come in waves, so it may take a few days or even a few weeks before everyone gets the update.

Has your PC already been prompted to download the Windows 10 upgrade? If so, let us know in the comments.
