Update: Microsoft has now stated that the 270 million number also refers to "active devices" rather than just users.

During today's Build 2016 keynote address, Microsoft announced that Windows 10 now has over 270 million users eight months since its launch in late July 2015

Microsoft's Windows and Devices head Terry Meyerson also stated that Windows 10 has generated over 75 billion user hours and that over 500 Windows 10 devices have launched. Other stats shown by Microsoft include over 5 billion Cortana questions asked, over 6.6 billion hours in Xbox gaming and 5 billion visits to the Windows Store in a month,
