A new, but unconfirmed, report claims that Windows 10 is installed on more than 50 million devices worldwide. The report from WinBeta, citing anonymous sources, claims that Windows 10 installs now number more than 50 million roughly two weeks after launch. This comes a week after it was reported that total installs had reached 27 million worldwide. The only official word from Microsoft on install numbers so far came 24 hours after Windows 10 launched, and pegged them at 14 million.
These are some pretty impressive numbers if true, as Microsoft is currently still in the process of rolling the free update out to Windows 7 and 8.1 PCs. Manufacturers are also selling PCs with Windows 10 already on board, which further count towards the install numbers.
As with all reports of this nature, take these numbers with a grain of salt. Hopefully we'll hear some official numbers from Microsoft soon.
