Windows 10

Microsoft will change the name of its preview version of Windows 10 in the near future. It's currently branded as the Windows 10 Technical Preview, but according to leaked unreleased builds of the OS, the name will change to the Windows 10 Insider Preview.

The change was first noted by WinBeta and it's a natural one for Microsoft to make. It now has over 3 million people signed up for the Windows Insider program to test both Windows 10 for PCs as well as smartphones. Those members also provide feedback directly from the preview versions of the OS to Microsoft, and many of them have been incorporated into the more recent releases.

By the way, Windows Insider program leader Gabriel Aul posted word earlier today on his Twitter account that all members of the program will continue to receive updates to Windows 10 "all the way up to RTM." Indeed, it's likely the Windows Insider program will stick around past the official launch of Windows 10 so Microsoft can have members test features and bug fixes for the OS before they are released to the general public.
