Alongside the announcement that the first Windows Mixed Reality developer kits will be headed out to partners later this month, Microsoft also had a slight tease in store for Xbox One fans. Specifically, Mixed Reality content is confirmed to be in the pipeline for both the Xbox One, as well as Project Scorpio, in 2018.

Windows Mixed Reality content is coming to Xbox One, Project Scorpio in 2018

From Microsoft:

We're also excited to share that Windows Mixed Reality experiences will light up on other devices over time, beyond desktop and Microsoft HoloLens. Our plan is to bring mixed reality content to the Xbox One family of devices, including Project Scorpio, in 2018.

That's big news for gamers, and offers a better look into what Microsoft may have up its sleeve for the high fidelity VR content it has been promising with Project Scorpio. And with Windows Mixed Reality developer kits making their way to partners this month, that hopefully gives developers enough of a head start to get some content cooked up ahead of Scorpio's release.
