The official GoPro app for Windows Phone just received a much-requested update. Version 1.1 adds compatibility for the new GoPro HERO3+ cameras. This app lets you control your GoPro camera remotely using Windows Phone 8 devices with at least 1GB RAM. You can start/stop recording, snap a photo, or adjust settings from your phone. You can also preview live video for easy shot framing.

Microsoft just sent out a notice that Zune Marketplace will no longer support rental and purchase of content, or browsing movies and TV shows, beginning as early as November 22, 2013. This is part of the Fall 2013 update that also retires Microsoft Points for local currency. Remaining Microsoft Points balance are transitioned to local currency when initiating a purchase or redeeming a Microsoft Points card or code on your Xbox 360.

Updated 11:30 AM ET: The Official Vine app is now live in the Store. Link below.

Vine has today announced on the official blog that their Windows Phone app will be released today. Fans of the service have been left with little choice but rely on third-party solutions (6sec and Viner to name a few) while Vine looked at developing an official app for Microsoft's mobile platform. We covered an unveiling of the official Vine app at Nokia World 2013, but soon you'll be able to download the app and create some awesome short clips.

It has been a couple of months since we last mentioned Sleeve Music. This app is currently exclusive to Windows Phone 8 and will be available on Android and iOS later this fall. Version 2.0 is out now, introducing a new look with a light theme. Sleeve Music lets you track and discover your favorite artists by grabbing content from Soundcloud, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and more.

The Samsung ATIV S Neo will be launching on AT&T on November 8th. Announced today, the Samsung Windows Phone will be available for $99.99 when taken out with a two-year contract. Already available over on Sprint, you'll soon be able to pick the first Samsung Windows Phone 8 device on AT&T. What's more is this device will enable you to take full advantage of LTE.

Locking the screen rotation on Windows Phone 8 is simply wonderful. Before Update 3 (aka GDR3), if you were preparing to lay in bed with the Kindle app at the ready, you'd have to watch out for the pesky gyroscope which would switch the screen orientation. It was a minor nuisance. Now with rotation lock, you're able to hop into the phone settings and lock the display to portrait or landscape. That said, it can be a pain to navigate through the settings area. Cue Rotation Lock, an app to solve this problem.

Earlier today, Microsoft surprised the Windows Phone community by not only announcing all the new features in GDR3, but by announcing the Developer Preview Program. That just announced program allows developers and enthusiasts to download the latest operating system updates from Microsoft. In fact it was just a few hours after those announcements that the Preview for Developers app went live allowing everyone to download GDR3, which Microsoft is calling Update 3.
