Windows Phone App Review: Simply TileMatch

Simply TileMatch for Windows Phone

Here's a quick take on a memory game for your Windows Phone. Simply TileMatch is a tile matching game that offers six categories of tiles to pair across as many as twenty two progress levels.

Simply TileMatch has five levels of difficulty (very easy to very hard). The six categories of tiles include:

  • Numbers
  • Chinese Zodiac
  • Zodiac
  • Flags
  • People
  • Letters

Simply TileMatch is laid out, as the title mentions, in a simple manner. Tap the Start Button, choose your tile design, difficulty and your level. You can start off at level one or jump ahead to a more challenging level. As the levels progress, more tiles are added to the mix and Simply TileMatch can be rather challenging when the tile grid spans beyond the bottom of the screen.

You'll be given a short preview of where all the characters sit and then they will be covered with cards. Tap the card to reveal the tile and then find its match. You need to find all the matches before time runs out.

All in all, Simply TileMatch is a fun game to pass the time with. The tiles are present in cartoon fashion that will be appalling to players of all age and a great way for the kids to pass the time with as well. The only nit that I have is that there's not a way to pause the game. If you hit the Back Button you return to the menu and your progress is lost.  Oh... another oddity with Simply TileMatch is that it's listed under your app listings and not in the Game Hub.

Nonetheless, Simply TileMatch is a fun, simple memory game for your Windows Phone. It's a free game and you can find Simply TileMatch here at the Windows Phone Marketplace.

The game installs as an App and not a Game. Meaning it's in the App list rather than the game list.
