While it may make some groan, WordMix is another word game for your Windows Phone. Described as a "fun, free and challenging word puzzle game for all ages", WordMix isn't too shabby.

The goal is to create as many words as you can from six letters before the timer strikes zero. To advance to the next round of letters, you have to discover 75% of the words.

More after the break.

The main menu of WordMix provides you not only access to the game but also to an online scoreboard and a help/how-to/about section. From the online scoreboard screen you can set up your player profile, which allow you to establish a custom screen name for the scoreboard.  Your player ranking is displayed on the Main Menu that is represented by a variety of elves, fairies and sprites.

The Quick Play option launches you directly into a game with no time limit. Launching a New Game you will get to choose your timer (1-3 minutes). With either game, you tap the green bar to start and begin building your words. Just tap on the letters (in appropriate order) and then tap the green bar to register your word. The game screen has button controls to shuffle the letters, mute the sound, save the game and a backspace button. You also have hints you can earn as you progress through the game.

All in all, WordMix meets its billing. It is a fun, challenging word game for your Windows Phone. I did have the game lock up a few times but not enough to get your blood pressure up.

WordMix is a free, ad-supported game and you can download it here (opens Zune) at the Marketplace.
