World of Redbull app now available for Lumia 920 and 820

Nokia have announced the general availability of their exclusive Redbull app for their Windows Phone 8 handsets.

The app has the ability to share video using NFC, pin your favourite athletes to the start screen and more. Check out the full story after the break.

The app looks gorgeous and performance is as smooth as butter, running on the big screen of the Lumia 920 its slick indeed. Here is what Nokia have to say about the app:-

The acclaimed Red Bull Media House will serve up jaw-dropping videos showcasing the achievements and adventures of their over 400 sponsored athletes and performers. Updates that include latest photos, videos and behind the scenes news to make sure you feel like you’re a part of the action.

In use the app is really well designed, allowing you to drill for more information about the videos and check out all the athletes’ bio information. You’ll also have the option to share things you find with your social networks, although it’s worth mentioning that it bypasses Windows Phone’s own sharing methods and asks you to login through the app.

Plenty of other nice touches here which are Windows Phone specific, you can set your favourite players as tiles on your start screen and even use the app to change your lock screen with photos of athletes. If that wasn’t enough for your extreme sporting and mobile needs you can even save athletes contact details to your address book and even has some voice recognition built in. Want some more good news? You can find your local events using the built in map which looks and performs great due to the new mapping platform.

We’d recommend you guys try out this extreme sport exclusive on your new Nokia 820’s and 920’s as soon as you get a chance. We’re always keen to hear what you think so be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
