Xbox 360 owners won't get Call of Duty: Black Ops III's campaign mode

If you own an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 and a are a big Call of Duty fan, you might want to think about getting a new Xbox One or PlayStation 4 to play the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops III. The game's publisher Activision has revealed that the older-gen console versions of the game won't include its campaign mode.

According to an Activision blog post:

"The Black Ops 3 PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will feature Multiplayer and Zombies gameplay only, not Campaign. The ambitious scope of the 1-4 player coop Campaign design of the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions could not be faithfully recreated on old generation hardware."

In addition, the Weapon Paint Shop and its eSports tools will also not be available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game. Both versions will now be priced at $49.99, which is $10 less than the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC versions of Black Ops III. However, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions will include a code for a free download of the original Call of Duty: Black Ops game.
