Update: The Xbox Live status page now shows that the service is back up and running once again, after being down for much of Christmas Day and earlier today.
Original story: Microsoft is currently dealing with issues centered on its Xbox Live online service for Xbox One console owners, just a few hours after its Xbox Video and Music stores got hit with similar problems before going back online once again earlier today.
The official Xbox Live status page has been updated with a message that acknowledges these new problems:
"Are you having difficulties signing in to Xbox Live? We're working to address this as quickly as we possibly can! Thanks for your patience, Xbox members. We'll have an update right here in 30 minutes."
While the online hacker group Lizard Squad has taken responsibility for the Xbox Live login issues on their Twitter page, as they have for similar outages in the recent past, there's no real proof yet they have indeed brought down the Xbox Live servers.
For what it is worth, reports of Sony's network going down for the PlayStation 4 are also rampant, so this may be more than just a Microsoft situation.
