Xbox One owners will have one less exclusive game in 2016. Scalebound, the highly anticipated third-person fantasy action-RPG from developer PlatinumGames, announced a delay in its release schedule that will push it back to sometime in 2017.
PlatinumGames explained their reason for the delay in an official blog post:
This will give us the time needed to bring to life all the innovative features and thrilling gameplay experiences that we have planned. We know you're excited to see more and thank you for your patience. Scalebound is a truly special project that's been several years in the making, and we are very proud and inspired by all the work our team has done so far.
Scalebound was first revealed in a trailer by Micrsoft at E3 2014, but it wasn't until Gamescom in August 2015 that the first gameplay footage was shown. Microsoft still has a number of Xbox One-exclusive games that are due for release in 2016, including Quantum Break, ReCore and Halo Wars II.
