Every year, Product of the Year, awards numerous consumer products across a variety of categories to inform shoppers of the most innovative items on the market. Started twenty-six years ago in France, the program continues to serve as an exceptional achievement for those who make the list. This year for the Product of the Year in the home entertainment category, Microsoft brought home the gold with their Xbox One entertainment console.
Over 45,000 people were selected by the program to be considered and Microsoft was able to make it out among the top. In an interview with Product of the Year, Microsoft’s Director of Product Planning, Albert Panello, commented on the state of entertainment in the living room, citing how he feels it has evolved beyond being a simple game console.
