Microsoft is launching the next version of their photo sharing app Xim for Windows Phone. Version 1.3 is bringing a handful of features to the app that will make it especially useful if you happen to own a device like the Xbox One.

Xim is an app from Microsoft Research that allows you to easily share photos with those around without having to hand over your phone. It works on Windows Phone, Android and iOS. Just select the photos you want to share and send them to your friends or family. The photos you see on your device will be the same that everyone else around sees. When you pan or zoom on your phone the same action happens automatically on all devices.

Xim version 1.3

  • Now playing on the big screen! Display support for browser, Xbox One, Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick
  • Xim expiration set to one hour
  • Bug fixes

The new version of Xim allows you to share slideshows of photos to devices like the Xbox One, Google Chromecast, Apple Airplay, Amazon Fire TV and Fire Stick and PCs.

This new sharing feature within Xim will search for wireless connected devices and turn your phone into a remote controller for the device. Allowing you to manipulate and cycle through images.
