During its Build 2016 day 2 keynote address, Starbucks showed off an upcoming add-in for Microsoft's Office apps that will allow users to create and send custom electronic gift cards from the coffee retailer to others directly from those apps.

The add-in will get users select the amount of money they want to send in the gift card, and it can be sent to any PC, tablet or smartphone. Starbucks also showed off another upcoming Office feature that will allow users to schedule a meeting at their their nearest Starbucks retail location from Outlook.

Starbucks recently confirmed it plans to launch a universal app for Windows 10 PC and Mobile, with a launch planned by early May.
