Zomato gets another update, brings in-app table booking for UK users

Zomato

Zomato is a popular restaurant finder Windows Phone app that gives you recommendations for restaurants in your area and lets you look at menus, pictures, contact info, and directions. Available in 41 cities across the United Kingdom, India, Brazil, the UAE, New Zealand, South Africa, Indonesia, Turkey, Portugal, the Philippines, Qatar, and Sri Lanka, the Windows Phone app was recently updated to version 5 with a complete design and user experience refresh.

After the major refresh, the app continues to get unfailing developer love and has seen third update in three months. The app was updated to version 5.3.0.0 last week, and brings in some new features.

The app now allows you to share your food pictures from Instagram with your friends on Zomato by linking the two accounts. That's a nifty features, since a lot of people post food or restaurant pictures on Instagram anyway, and this integration saves one from doing the same thing twice. The company obviously would be hoping to get more people to share photos on Zomato since it's seamless.

The big highlight of the latest update is of course the in-app table booking, although available only in the UK. Zomato has partnered with OpenTable and Bookatable allowing users to book tables at over 3,000 restaurants in London. The app also sends you a reminder two hours before the booking, just in case you made a booking several days in advance, and have forgotten.

The latest update adds the ability for the users to report restaurants that aren't listed. You can also invite your Facebook friends to join Zomato. Download the Zomato app for free on Windows Phone 7.x and Windows Phone 8 devices from the Windows Phone Store. It's a great app if you eat out or order in often, and a definite pin it to your Start screen. Let us know how you like it.
