500px Windows 8.1

500px is probably one of my favorite photography websites. Flickr was once the darling of photography networks, but its development stalled a bit during the first few years following acquisition by Yahoo. It’s getting better, but I’ve since been all about 500px when it comes to getting my photography fix. Which is why I’m really happy to see the Windows 8 version of 500px. Let’s check out what’s new.

Head to the Windows Store and you’ll see the latest version now adding support for some features you’re only going to get with Windows 8.1 This latest update brings optimized views for when you snap the app in Windows 8.1. There’s also now a Live tile that will cycle through the top 5 current photos in the Popular section of the app.

There’s also been various bug fixes and improvements to the app. You’ll see things like top photos properly refreshing, smoother transitions while scrolling, overall speed improvements, and much more.

Download the latest version and let us know what you think of it!
