Anthem teases E3 news with new artwork

Anthem is an upcoming third-person shooter along the lines of Borderlands and Destiny. Players work together to take down enemies and explore the environment. The game is being developed by BioWare but was recently pushed back to 2019 to increase its quality.

In the title's world, hostile monsters rule the wilderness, and humanity has taken refuge inside a walled city known as "Fort Tarsis". Freelancers, basically bounty hunters bearing "Javelin" exoskeletons, are among the few who can venture outside these walls, forming the basis for Anthem's gameplay. Diverging from the developer's narrative-driven experiences, Anthem pursues an online shared world, built with action mechanics in mind.

Recently, the developer shared a short teaser on Twitter with the promise of more information at E3 2018. While we've seen the characters before, the massive structure in one of the shots is a mystery. It looks like it might be a remnant of a forgotten civilization and plays an important role in the story. However, we'll have to wait until later this month to find out for sure.

Hopefully Anthem will be a polished experience when it launches on Xbox One next year. EA said that the game was being developed with the Xbox One X in mind so it should push the boundaries when it comes to technology and visuals. We'll keep you posted as soon as we know more about the title.
