Here's a roundup of the best watch to watch your favorite shows on Windows 10.

Hulu

Why you can trust Windows Central Our expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing products and services so you can choose the best for you. Find out more about how we test.

Hulu is one of the best services around when it comes to viewing popular content online. It has a vast catalog of channels including the four major networks ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC, as well as many other channels. As with any service, it's worth checking if the specific content you want to watch is available but with Hulu there's a good chance it's on their service. There's also a free trial for anyone new the service if you want to try before you buy.

A big boost to Hulu is that it has local sports and content in many markets.

Hulu has apps available on Windows 10 and the Xbox One and Xbox 360. The apps are free but the service has a base subscription at just under $40 that you can also add features to such as Cloud DVR ($15/month) and removing all ads ($4/month).

If you're watching on the Xbox One, the recent addition of Hulu Live TV enhances your experience even further, though the feature is in beta.

The live TV service is not currently available on the Windows 10 app but you can use it within a number of browsers.

Sling TV

We've recommended Sling TV before, including as a way to watch the NFL and it's with good reason. Sling TV is a well-made app available on Windows 10 and Xbox One. It has a large number of channels available and a relatively low entry cost.

The cheapest package is Sling's Orange package that comes with 30 channels for $20/month. You can opt for the Blue package instead that gets you more than 40 channels for $25/month. There are also other add-ons such as a sports package and Cloud DVR available for additional costs which are explained on their website.

Sling TV is going to feel very natural for people coming from cable or satellite. You can watch TV live, and browse all of your channels. If you have the package you can easily DVR content and watch it later.

Sling TV has apps available on Windows 10 and Xbox One. Like the other apps in this list the app is free to download but the service has a subscription fee.

Netflix

Netflix has a growing catalog of exclusive programming, including some shows that come out weekly in a similar fashion to traditional television.

In addition to the content you can only get with a Netflix subscription, it also has a large collection of popular TV shows. Generally speaking, Netflix doesn't get the latest season of shows until they have finished airing on TV. But this isn't universally true and having the old seasons is handy if you need to marathon previous episodes to recap before a new season starts.

Netflix is available Windows 10, Windows 10 Mobile, and the Xbox One.

Microsoft's Movies and TV

While Microsoft's own Movies and TV app doesn't allow you to stream live television, it does have a large library of content including popular TV shows. You can subscribe to a season pass to many shows or purchase your old favorites.

If you're on the Windows 10 ecosystem Movies and TV is especially useful as you can watch content you purchase on Windows 10, Windows 10 Mobile, and Xbox One. You can also download content to avoid streaming with data on the go or buffering.

The app is preinstalled on Windows devices but we'll include a link to the Windows Store listing so you can check out the description.

CrunchyRoll

There are plenty of apps to watch popular mainstream television but if anime meets your fancy, you'll want to check out Crunchyroll.

The service has an absolutely massive library of content. Not only does it have many popular series, it often has hundreds of episodes available from those series.

Crunchyroll can be viewed for free on their apps for Windows 10, Windows 10 Mobile, and Xbox One but if you want to skip ads and get some other features such as shows simulcasted just an hour after they're streamed in Japan you can get Crunchyroll Premium which is $4.99 per month or Premium+ which is $8.99 per month.
