Chime in: What do you think of the Xbox One X 'Project Scorpio Launch Edition' console?

The new console is expected to ship on November 7, 2017, so that's still a good ways away. However, if you want your Xbox One X as soon as possible, you need to preorder right away. Supplies appear to be limited, and the demand looks high, based on the fact that some retailers, include Amazon, have already sold out.

One potential downside to the news that preorders are live is that you can only purchase the limited edition Scorpio console at this point. In other words, the "regular" non-Scorpio branded Xbox One X is not available. The differences between the two are purely aesthetic, and they seem minor; they consist of some green Scorpio lettering on the console and the controller, and that's about it. But if you'd rather not have any green on your all-black Xbox, you'll have to wait to preorder. And you may not get it as soon as folks who preorder the Scorpio console.

Preorder at Microsoft

I created a thread in the Windows Central forums to gauge readers' opinions on the Scorpio Edition Xbox One X:

By now you know that Microsoft yesterday unveiled a special limited edition Project Scorpio version of the upcoming Xbox One X. If you don't know that, where the hell have you been, man?? :eck: I already preordered mine, but I honestly had to think about it a bit, to decide whether I wanted the Scorpio edition Xbox. I kind of feel like the regular version is more sleek and understated....

I'm curious what you think. Personally, I would have preordered the regular version if it was available yesterday, because I'd prefer an all-black Xbox. It would fit in better with all the other components in my home entertainment system. But based on a poll we ran yesterday, many Windows Central readers really like the Scorpio edition, and as of the time of this writing, nearly 70 percent of the almost 1,000 respondents said they'd already preordered the Scorpio Xbox One X.

Hit the forum link below and let us know where you stand. Also, if you want that limited edition Scorpio console, you better act sooner than later. These things appear to be selling fast.
