Cralert is Windows Phone 8 app that lets you post questions concerning entertainment events to a social network and crowd source the answers.

The questions range from when the latest video game is going to be released to finding out information about a local concert. You can pose the questions, answer the questions or up/down vote correct answers.  Cralert has possibilities but needs a little more audience participation to get off the ground.

The layout for Cralert is rather direct with the main page listing links to the top questions, new questions, your alerts and your posts. While you can search for events by keyword, there's no means to list all the questions in any order (chronological, by subject, etc.).  Viewing content doesn't require membership but to participate you'll need to register with Cralert (free).

Cralert Screens

In viewing the questions, you'll have options to offer up your answer, add a reminder or up/down vote the responses others have offered up.  Live tile support is present to let you pin questions to your Start Screen with alerts on any new answers that may appear.

While the concept has potential Cralert's success is dependent on audience participation. Much like any other Q&A forum, if nobody is asking or answering questions the forum will quickly become stale. Granted Cralert is barely a month old, it has had the same five questions up for a few days.  Right now, Cralert is beginning to gather a little dust.

However, if interest builds, I can see Cralert being a source of information on concert dates, ticket availability, local sporting events information and other entertainment questions and answers.

Cralert is a free app for your Windows Phone 8 device that you can find here in the Windows Phone Store.
