Dell has decided to match its biggest rival HP and will start shipping its first PCs with Windows 10 pre-installed today to customers, rather than wait until the launch date of Windows 10 itself on July 29.

The change was announced as an update on Dell's Windows 10 shipment blog post that was first posted in June. People who pre-ordered a Windows 10 PC from Dell before today will be able to get them on July 29 with free next-business-day shipping. HP had already announced plans to ship PCs with Windows 10 pre-installed today, so it would appear that Dell didn't want HP to claim that it had the first Windows 10 PCs to ship to consumers after all.
