Destiny fans, grab your calendars – Bungie has detailed a roadmap for both the beta and full release of Destiny 2. While the franchise's next entry surfaced at E3 2017 with a new trailer, several new dates should be welcome (and maybe somewhat disappointing) for those anticipating its release this fall.
While Destiny 2 was previously announced to release on September 8 for Xbox One and PS4 – the game's launch has now been advanced to September 6 across the globe. That's a Wednesday, which is pretty uncommon for major video game releases, but console gamers should be happy to get a couple days of early access. The game's PC version has also now been confirmed for October 24, which is nearly two months after the initial console debut.
Furthermore, Bungie has outlined dates for closed and open beta test for Destiny 2, which is now set to kick off later next month. While those who pre-ordered the game on PS4 and Xbox One will gain access on July 18 and July 19 respectively, all console users can try out the game on July 21. A PC version of the beta has also been announced, but that's now set to go live in late August.
