March 7, 2019: According to a new report by Digital Foundry, a reconstruction technique is used to achieve native 4K resolution on Xbox One X. The PlayStation 4 Pro achieves 1800p through the same way.
Devil May Cry 5 is the direct sequel in the acclaimed franchise and takes place years later with a new set of characters. The title looks absolutely stunning running on Xbox One X because it achieves high visual fidelity while maintaining its smooth gameplay.
However, when it comes to knowing about a game's visuals, that's not enough anymore. Nowadays, gamers want to know the exact resolution and frame rate a title runs at in order to choose which platform to purchase it for. According to an early analysis by Digital Foundry, Devil May Cry 5 runs at native 4K resolution on Xbox One X at 60 FPS.
This is surprising because many individuals thought that the game wouldn't be able to hit 4K 60 FPS on Microsoft's new console. It's great to see Capcom pushing the boundaries of what's possible. Hopefully more developers will achieve 4K 60 FPS with their games as they become more comfortable working with the hardware.
Devil May Cry 5 is expected to launch on March 8, 2019. You can currently preorder the game from retailers like Amazon for $59.99.
