Insider Rings

It looks like Windows Insiders will have to wait a little longer for a new build.

If you were hoping to see a new Windows Insider build arrive before the week is out, you can relax. After encountering blocking bug during Microsoft's internal testing, Windows Insider chief Dona Sarkar has confirmed that there aren't any plans to release new builds through at least next Monday.

It's worth noting that this applies to all Insider branches. Sarkar confirmed in a follow-up tweet that Windows 10 Mobile and the Skip Ahead branch are affected as well.

As for the details of the bug in question, a tweet from the Windows Insider account indicates that it prevents the Feedback Hub app from being opened. That would prevent Insiders from submitting feedback, which is obviously a fairly big deal.

Work on the Fall Creators Update is winding down in advance of its October 17 release, and Microsoft previously indicated we should start to see the pace of new builds increase. Presumably, that will be the case once this particular bug is fixed, but Insiders will have to wait until next Tuesday, September 12, at the very least to see. For now, Fast ring Insiders will have to stick with the most recently released build, 16281, which was flighted last week.
