Square Enix has outlined its plans to support Final Fantasy XV going forward, detailing ideas currently in place to offer free content to all players. While a season pass is already being offered with six individual expansions, these free updates will build upon the existing content found in the base game.

Among the planned content, Square Enix is looking develop Final Fantasy XV's lore, with new fully-voiced scenes that build upon the game's narrative. Other ideas on the table include new playable characters and customization options for the game's cast.

After that, we're hoping to delve deeper into the story, adding scenes that will give you new insight into character motivations, such as why Ravus walked the path he did. We will need a little time with these, as they'll need to be localized and voiced in other languages, but we'll let you know the details once everything is set.

For the long term, we are looking at making certain key characters playable, and even considering the possibility of customizable avatars, in addition to other features over time.

In addition to this bonus content, the team also plans to continually tweak the Final Fantasy XV experience, with gameplay and story improvements already in the pipeline. The blog post even goes out of its way to discuss tweaks to Chapter 13 – a portion of the game's story which has been criticized by many.

Players can also expect to see new bosses, limited time events and rewards making their way into the game regularly, in-between the larger content drops.
