GPD shows off its tiny Pocket PC prototype in action

After running an incredibly successful Indiegogo campaign, GPD has released a new video showing off a prototype version of its tiny, crowd-funded Pocket PC. It's a relatively short clip, but you can see the diminutive Windows 10-powered PC running on prototype hardware in the clip below (via WinFuture.de).

There's not much to glean from the clip, but it's a pretty neat early look at what looks to be an interesting piece of hardware. The most impressive part of all of this is GPD has put full x86 Windows Machine into a device that measures in at 180 x 106 x 18.5 mm. Here's a look at the GPD Pocket's full proposed specs:

GPD is positioning this device as comparable to the Surface 3, though it's obviously quite a bit smaller. And while its size is its big draw, it's also one of its big drawbacks. Rather than sporting a full trackpad, the Pocket includes a trackstick that certainly sticks out. Of course, you can remedy any hiccups with that setup by connecting an external mouse via USB or Bluetooth.

GPD is aiming to release the Pocket by June 2017, and you can already order on through the company's Indiegogo campaign for $399. And from the looks of it, you'll be joining to pretty eager fans of this concept: the campaign has already blown the lid off of its initial $200,000 goal by raising more than $2 million.
