Updated October 17, 2019: According to the Xbox Game Pass Twitter account, Doom and Halo Wars aren't leaving the service. These listings are a mistake and the Xbox Game Pass app will be updated as soon as possible to reflect that. However, the app also says that Darksiders II isn't leaving now. We've reached out to the company for further clarification.

Xbox Game Pass is Microsoft's game subscription service that gives you access to over 200 titles immediately. Just like Netflix, certain games rotate in and out, but Microsoft Studios projects are permanent additions. Well, that's what we thought. Today, the Xbox Game Pass app on iOS was updated to showcase the titles "leaving soon." While games like Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition, Doom, and other third-party experiences are understandable, it's unclear why Halo Wars: Definitive Edition is on the list.

When Xbox Game Pass was revealed, Microsoft assured everyone that Microsoft exclusives wouldn't leave the service. Halo Wars: Definitive Edition is an Xbox Game Studios game, so it's unclear why it's going to be removed soon.

We've reached out to Microsoft for comment. Hopefully, this is just an error because it's not a precedent the company wants to set. One of the main reasons why gamers subscribe to Xbox Game Pass is because they're guaranteed access to Microsoft exclusives. If the company can't assure that, it may lose a lot of customers.
