After a series of leaks hinting at its existence, Microsoft finally took the wraps off of ReCore Definitive Edition as Gamescom 2017 kicked off this week. While we got a general overview of the changes coming to the game during its reveal, a more detailed list of changes has now been posted on the official ReCore website.

The enhanced visual effects, including HDR, and new T8-NK Corebot are probably the highlights here, but there are a number of other new changes and additions tagging along as well. Here's a look:

  • Enhanced visuals (increased resolution and HDR)
  • A brand-new adventure, "Eye of Obsidian"
  • T8-NK Corebot ("Tank")
  • New Environments
  • New Dungeons
  • 3 new weapon modes for Joule's Energy Rifle
  • New gear for all Corebots
  • More enemy types
  • Gameplay and performance enhancements (yes, this includes load times!)
  • Dynamic sandstorms in "Far Eden's" "Shifting Sands" regions. Brave the storms to defeat more dangerous enemies and earn more valuable loot.
  • New Achievements
  • Increased level caps

The post is quick to point at that this isn't an absolutely comprehensive look at all of the changes coming, but it's a good overview.

ReCore Definitive Edition is set to launch on August 29, and it is up for preorder now for $19.99. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will also get to play along, as the game will be added to the program. The good news for anyone who already owns the game is that a Definitive Edition update will be rolled out to current players for free, with all of the changes included, on Xbox One and Windows 10. And that's a good move, as the update fleshes out an experience that many players felt was lacking at launch.
