What you need to know

  • LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga compiles all nine films in new levels built from the ground up.
  • On an episode of This Week in Star Wars, which has since been pulled and reuploaded, it was announced that the release date was October 20, 2020.
  • It's unknown whether the video was pulled because this is inaccurate or if it wasn't supposed to be announced yet.

May the Fourth came and went with no release date for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, though we did get come key art and the confirmation that it would feature nearly 500 playable characters. Eyes turned towards an announcement at Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fast, but it looks like the release date was seemingly slipped in an episode of This Week in Star Wars.

Apparently, the game is set to release on October 20, 2020. The episode has since been pulled from Star Wars' YouTube and social media and was reuploaded without any mention of a release date. It's unclear whether this is because the release date was inaccurate, not set in stone, or if it wasn't meant to be announced just yet.

Lucasfilm Games Managing Producer Craig Derrick was recently interviewed by StarWars.com and discussed what it was like to create the game.

We'll just need to wait a little while longer to see when we'll be jumping back into the Skywalker saga. Here's hoping playing through The Rise of Skywalker is infinitely more enjoyable than trying to watch it.
