The Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL are listed as "coming soon" on Microsoft India's website, although a specific launch date was not mentioned. The import data listing from late last month revealed that Microsoft was bringing in devices en masse into the country, signifying an imminent launch.

Today, Flipkart has listed that the device would be included in its April commission payouts under the exclusive category, which means that at least online, the Lumia 640 will be exclusively sold via the e-retailer, and that the device would be made available before the end of the month. Not much else is known about the pricing of the handset, with the latest batch of rumors suggesting a price in the vicinity of ₹9,999 ($160).

No word as yet as to when the Lumia 640 XL will make its debut, although it is entirely likely that Microsoft will launch both devices simultaneously in the country. As for the hardware on offer, the Lumia 640 features a 5-inch 720p display, 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 CPU, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory, microSD card slot, dual SIM connectivity, 8MP camera, 1MP front shooter and a 2,500mAh battery. Software-wise, we're looking at Windows Phone 8.1 with the Denim update out of the box.
