Microsoft brings Yammer integration to Office 365 Groups

Microsoft is bringing team collaboration service Yammer and Office 365 Groups closer together with its latest move. In a new blog post, Microsoft has announced that Yammer is now integrated with Office 365 Groups, meaning that when you create a new group in Yammer, it will now automatically be a part of Office 365 Groups and all that that entails.

From Microsoft:

Now, when you create a new group in Yammer, it will automatically be part of the Office 365 Groups service, giving the group a OneNote notebook, a Planner for task management, a SharePoint Online team site and document library. With the integration, you and the members of your group can readily access these shared resources directly from Yammer.

The integration is just now starting to roll out today, and Microsoft notes that it will take place in phases. It's also worth noting that only newly created Yammer groups will see the integration with this rollout, but Microsoft is working on a way to convert existing groups in the coming months.
