Microsoft to discontinue MSN Food & Drink, Health & Fitness, and Travel apps

In addition to Photosynth, Microsoft will also be shutting down a few of its MSN apps as well, including MSN Food & Drink, Health & Fitness, and Travel apps. Microsoft sent out an email to users, letting them know that the apps will be shutting down this fall, and detailing how to get their data out of them. In a statement to VentureBeat, a Miscrosoft spokesperson said:

"We regularly evaluate our business to ensure we're focused on the areas where our users find the most value. We will continue to support those apps with broad consumer appeal including News, Weather, Sports and Money, which will be made available as apps on Windows 10 and will remain cross platform."

The first apps to shut down will be MSN Food & Drink, and MSN Travel, which takes place on September 28, 2015. MSN Health & Fitness users will have a little more time, as the app is due to shut down on November 1, 2015. On these dates, the apps will be removed from their respective stores, and will no longer be accessible to users.
