Microsoft To-Do is taking a little inspiration from Twitter (and countless other services) with its latest update on Android. Among a few other general improvements, To-Do for Android will now let you add hashtags to your tasks.

Hashtags can be added to the notes for a task, as well as in the name of the task itself. Once you've saved it, the hashtag will be highlighted and underlined to indicate that you can tap it for more information. Tapping the tag will then take you to another page where you can see all of the notes and tasks that share that hashtag. For example, you could categorize all of your cleaning tasks with "#cleaning" and tap the tag to see all of them in one place.

If you're a heavy To-Do user with a lot of tasks and notes, hashtags could be a handy way to organize them into categories for access later, even after they've been completed.

Aside from tags, this update also packs in a slight UI tweak for Detail View for tasks, as well as some smaller fixes. Here's a look at all of what's new:

  • New: Love using #tags? In Microsoft To-Do for Android, you can also now use them inside of your notes!
  • Improved: We've made it easier for you to know which task you're adding a reminder or recurring due date to in the Detail View thanks to new bolder task titles.
  • And finally, we've packed in a bunch more smaller fixes for you too!
