New Gears 5 footage revealed through Instagram riddle

Over the past few days, Microsoft has been teasing secret footage from Gears 5 on Instagram. The company posted a series of images which were a link to a YouTube video.

Well, this morning, the code was cracked and numerous individuals posted links to an Unlisted video on the Xbox YouTube channel which gives us a 15-minute look into Act 2 of the campaign. The gameplay shines in 4K resolution and 60 frames per second. You can take a look at it below. However, be aware that the footage probably contains spoilers.

Gears 5 is an upcoming third-person shooter from Microsoft's The Coalition team. The studio has worked on Gears of War 4 in the past, and it wants to make the sequel an even bigger adventure. The game is also more advanced on a technical front. According to Gears 5's Multiplayer Design Director, the franchise will feature 60 Hz servers for the first time.

Those of you who preordered the Gears 5: Ultimate Edition or are a part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you'll be pleased to know that the early-access date has been moved up to September 5 at 9 PM local time. For example, North American early access will begin simultaneously at 9 PM EDT, 7 PM CDT, and 6 PM PDT.
