Ooblets, described as Harvest Moon meets Pokémon, is coming to Xbox One and PC

Ooblets, an indie title that's been intriguingly described by its developer as "Harvest Moon meets Pokémon meets Animal Crossing," will see its initial release on Xbox One and PC. The game will see not only the support of Microsoft, but it will be published by Double Fine, which has been behind indie classics like Grim Fandango, Psychonauts and Broken Age.

In a blog post today, developer Glumberland made the announcement, touching on where development will go from here:

We're going to keep doing what we've been doing, but we now have a lot more support from people who know what they're doing, so we'll hopefully be avoiding a lot of dumb mistakes we were otherwise planning on making.

Given its influences, Ooblets definitely looks like it will make for an interesting romp once it's released. According to Glumberland, the game packs in not only the charm of working the land and interacting with a town full of characters, but also the adventure of exploring the world to collect and battle the magical Ooblets. For more, you can follow along with the Ooblets website for updates on the project as it progresses.

Update: It looks like Ooblets will indeed be a Play Anywhere title as well, so you'll be able to buy it once and play it on both platforms.
